I LOVE SNOW DAYS!!!!

Wow, what a surprise I got when I looked out the window this morning! I was taking a few photos and I thought it would be fun to have a Snow sculpture challenge. So get your warm clothes on and get out in it.

Send me a photo and I will put it up on the Blog!

This is my entry - Cat in the Hat!

Trapped like flies in a spider web!

As I was sorting through the photos, I found this one that I thought you would enjoy.

On this day, the Tuatara Reading Group had been reading a book about White-Tail Spiders. We found out that although White-Tails don't make a web, they do use other spider's webs to trick them into coming close enough for the White-Tail to catch them and eat them.

Look at the strange creatures we caught in our spider web!

Beach Fun Day

The Year 3 Big Day In was all about the Beach! The weather was sunny but cold and there were some great outfits. Congratulations to Beth who won the Beached As Award for the best outfit. We made some funky sunglasses, groovy grass skirts and a beach scene placemat. For lunch we shared Fish & Chips outside on our towels. Thank you to all the parents and other helpers who arranged outfits, helped with the crafts and managed the food at lunch time. We couldn't have done it without you!

Red & Black Day

Ginger Beer

This week we made some Ginger Beer as part of our Bubble Fizz Pop Science Unit. We made it in a bucket and left it overnight for the yeast to work it's magic. Then we strained it and put it into bottles. When we felt the bottles they were quite squishy. The next day they had become a lot harder. That is because the pressure is building up.  We are hoping it doesn't pop! Next week we are going to share our Ginger Beer with our buddy class - Room 25.

Click on the link below to the Suzy's World Website if you would like to make some Ginger Beer at home.
